Nigel Purchase

Nigel is the Chief Investment Officer at SIRA Group and has been in the financial markets for over thirty years. He has a B A (Hons) in Economics from the University of Cape Town and has attended courses in forecasting techniques and investment management at the University of Cape Town School of Business Management, at the London Business School and at Princeton University in the USA.

Nigel's initial experience was with South Africa’s largest life assurance company, where he was in succession economic analyst, economist and chief economist. He moved over to the equity side after five years doing economics and strategy and was in succession, small companies analyst, equity analyst, and discretionary portfolio manager.

Nigel then moved to the UK where he worked for Stockbrokers Sheppards & Chase and as global strategist for Norwich Union. In Australia he has worked for both stockbrokers (ANZ McCaughan and Potter Warburg/UBS) and for fund managers (National Mutual/Axa) and First Samuel.
